June, 28, 2013 – Waqooyi Diaspora Forum, hugely welcomes the significance in demonstrating of British Government of under the Prime Minister Mr. David Cameron’s solidarity with Somalia integrity, sovereignty and bringing the international community attention to Somalia’s long overdue civil war.
Somalia must take advantage the David’s successful foreign policy which is spread of freedom, democracy and supporting humanitarian intervention such as genocide.
Though the Waqooyi Diaspora Forum was against how the two London Somalia conferences were managed that gave privilege one tribe over other major Waqooyi tribes but still the Waqooyi Diaspora Forum recognizes and supports the unwavering help and support of British Government to the people of Somalia to restore their integrity, sovereignty and the turnaround of the international attention for Somalia problems.
Since then there is a progress in political, security and rebuilding the country institutions and economy. The security forces with the support of AMISON responded quickly, professionally and improvably in all unfavourable situations. The security increases day by-day and the people’s opponents are weakened in all fronts.
The Somali people are hopeful with the support of international community in rebuilding the Somali security institutions in order to bring peace and stability to Somalia and the region. The Waqooyi Diaspora Forum also encourages the Somali people to take part in rebuilding and restoring the security and stability of their country.
Waqooyi Diaspora Forum supports the Government and the international community in rebuilding the eighteen (18) regions and delay the creation of provinces until tribal regions accept each other. The Somalia eighteen regions were based on ethnicity (tribal arrangement) and could play major role in security, peace and stability in all parts of the country. The Forum also supports the review of drafted constitution in that matter before put on referendum. The Regions that are interested to form provinces need time to negotiate, settle their differences for harmony, working together and live together without forcing each other because one tribe has more guns than others. What’s happening in Kismayo is an example of what to be expected the forced regions into provinces that might take back in 1991 tribal wars.
Furthermore, we call Khatumo State, Somaliland and Awdal State of Waqooyi tribes to consult among themselves and come with one voice at the Mogadishu Somali Conference table that to be held soon for Somali regions. The time of barrel of gun, warlordism, tribalism and shababism is ended and new era has begun for Somali people with the help of international community.
